The creative context from which the songs arise is projected in their subject matter and reflects the way of thinking, perceiving and debating the social problems that are specific to them, among them, violence against women. This paper outlines the methodological strategy that the authors have been developing in order to analyze the content of the songs and the elements that condition them in terms of their relationship with violence against women. Several variables have been defined and operationalized taking into account the information extracted from different secondary sources and previous theoretical and empirical studies on the issue. Aspects such as the characterization of violence; the possible generating, catalyzing and/or potentiating effects; the consequences of violence; the influence and support from the environment; and the discursive resources used are analyzed on the basis of a statistically representative sample of songs on which the corresponding quantitative and qualitative analyses will be developed.

Transfemininity is an umbrella term for transgender people whose identities are female, but who do not necessarily consider themselves women, although they may do so. It includes, on the one hand, trans women who describe themselves as women and, on the other hand, non-binary and third-gender people who have feminine qualities but do not self-identify as women.[1] A transfeminine person may identify with many traits of femininity, but does not wish to describe herself as a “woman.” [2][3] As an inclusive term, the word is used in transfeminism to unite binary transgender women with non-binary and genderqueer individuals due to common social experiences.[4][5][6][7][8]

Transfeminine individuals undergo a gender transition to obtain a female gender, so they were assigned male at birth, which does not mean that their gender expression will be female,[9] and some may describe themselves as femme or butch, for example.[10][11][12][13]
